Partners in Safety Grant Program

The Georgia Municipal Association's Risk Management and Employment Benefit Services Group (RMEBS) offers the Partners in Safety Grant Program exclusively to members of GIRMA and/or WCSIF. This program provides financial incentives to help members strengthen employee safety and public liability loss control through the purchase of training, equipment, and services. Eligible expenses may include training materials, seminar fees, accreditation or certification costs, body armor, reflective gear, and confined space equipment.

Premium Schedule

The grant will fund up to 100% of approved eligible expenses. Eligible expenses may include training materials, seminar fees, accreditation or certification costs, body armor, reflective gear, and confined space equipment.

Part 1 Instructions: Filling Out the Application

  • Review and acknowledge the application affirmations in the following sections: Eligibility and Program Participation & Required Policies and Implementation Statements.
    • If your Participating Employer has a premium level above $100,000, please download and fill out the Safety Action Plan. Instructions for completing the Safety Action Plan are provided on the first page of the Excel document. Upload the completed Safety Action Plan, which will become part of your application.
  • Provide your name, contact information, and other required demographic information.
  • Select one or more eligible items to be purchased with grant funds. Provide the estimated cost for each selection.
    • If an item you would like to purchase is not listed, please enter the name & estimated cost of the item. Write-in items are subject to review and will be approved only if they are determined to meet the program's goals.
  • Review your application to ensure it is complete before submitting. An Authorizer in your Participating Employer (generally, the Mayor, City Manager, or Executive Director) must review the application and agree to it before it is submitted to the Risk & Loss Control Team.

Part 2: Authorizer Review of Application

The Authorizer will:
  • Review the previously made affirmations and grant fund request items carefully.
  • Review and acknowledge the Grant Compliance affirmations.
  • Submit the application to the Risk & Loss Control team for review.

Part 3: Risk & Loss Control Team Review

  • Each grant application submitted will be reviewed by members of the RMEBS team for eligibility and compliance with program guidelines.
  • A member of the Risk Control Team will reach out if there are further questions regarding your application.
  • If your application is approved, you and the Authorizer will receive a confirmation email, notifying you that your application has been fully or partially approved.
  • If your application is denied, you and the Authorizer will receive notice from a member of the Risk Control Team.

Important Instructions

  • Please complete only one application per member. Applications can include both GIRMA and WCSIF items.
  • All communication will be conducted via email. Data clarity and accuracy is critical to a swift approval of your grant.
  • Incomplete applications may be sent back for completion.
